Our quarry originated back in 1857 when John Adair first aquired it to produce dimension stone. Over the years, it became part of White Pigment, a divison of the Vermont Marble Company. In 1976, a Swiss company, Omya, bought the quarry for its rich reserves of calcium carbonate. Today, the quarry continues to opperate and provide high quality aggregates that are used in asphalt, concrete, and road building, as well as residential  driveways and landscaping projects.
